Credit Overview

Credits are used for two primary features in RedFlag:

• International Messaging (text messages and voice calls to non-U.S. numbers)
• Chats 

Each international message or voice call, and each chat message (sent or received), consumes a specific number of credits. The number of credits used varies depending on the destination country and message type.

International Credits

Text messages and voice calls sent to non-U.S. phone numbers require credits in addition to your RedFlag plan. The credit cost varies by:

• Country
• Carrier (e.g., mobile vs. landline)
• Message or call type (text vs. voice)

🛡️ Note: Each country requires a different number of credits per text and per minute of a voice call.

Example:

• Country A: 7 credits per text message, 12 credits per minute of a voice call
• Country B: 6 credits per text message, 29 credits per minute of a voice call

Credits are purchased in bundles and deducted automatically as messages are sent or calls are made. RedFlag recommends purchasing 200 credits per international recipient.

Chat Credits

RedFlag Chat uses credits when communicating via text message.

• Each SMS text message sent or received via chat requires 2 credits.
• Each MMS text message sent or received via chat requires 4 credits.
  • Chat messages are sent via MMS when image files are included in the text message. 

Contract Credits

Your RedFlag location is assigned a set number of credits based on your contract. These credits are used for both:

• International messaging
• Chat messaging

Credits are deducted from your total balance as messages are sent. On your contract renewal date, the credit balance resets to your included plan amount. If you run low, additional credits can be purchased. Purchased credits do not expire upon renewal.

Credit Usage

To view credit usage:

• Go to More > Location Details > Credit Usage
• Here, you will see:
  • Your available credit balance
  • A table of daily usage or additions
  • A downloadable report

🛡️ Note: The available balance is calculated as your total credits minus those already used for international or chat messages.

Credit Report

You can download a detailed credit report from the Credit Usage section. 

International Messages Report

The downloadable report includes: 

• Recipient’s profile data fields
• Message status and details
• Status date
• Sent date
• Credits used per message

Chat Messages Report

The downloadable report includes: 

• Chat inbox name
• Message content
• Direction (Inbound/Outbound)
• Date and time
• Phone number
• Credits used per message
• Text type (SMS or MMS)
