Template Folders

Overview

Template Folders in RedFlag help organize message templates into categories for easier management and quicker access during emergencies.

Folders can be used to separate templates by department, scenario type, or communication purpose.

Examples include:

  • Weather Templates
  • Safety Templates
  • HR Templates

Access Template Folders

Navigate to:
Messages > Templates

The folder navigation panel is located on the left side of the page.

Default Folder Views

At the top of the folder panel, RedFlag includes quick-access views:

  • All Templates
  • Favorites
  • Templates Not in a Folder

These views help quickly locate templates across your location.

Create a Folder

To create a new folder:

  • Click New Folder at the top of the folder panel
  • Enter the folder name
  • Save the folder

Folders support one layer of subfolders for additional organization.

Use Subfolders

Folders can contain one level of nested subfolders.

Example structure:

  • Safety Templates
    • Fire
    • Severe Weather
    • Medical Emergencies

Folders containing subfolders display an expand arrow that can be clicked to show nested folders.

Manage Folder Settings

Each folder includes a three-dot menu with additional management options.

Available actions include:

  • Set User Access permissions
  • Rename Folder
  • Apply Folder Color
  • Delete Folder

Configure User Access

Folder permissions allow you to control which admins and editors can access templates within a folder.

🛡️ Note: User Access settings apply to all templates contained within that folder.

Color Code Folders

Folders can be color coded to help visually organize templates.

This can help separate:

  • Departments
  • Emergency categories
  • Approval groups
  • Communication types

Move Templates Between Folders

To move templates:

  • Select the checkbox next to the template
  • Click Add to Folder
  • Choose an existing folder or create a new one

Filter Templates by Folder

Clicking on a folder filters the template grid to only display templates within that folder and its subfolders.
